Creative Response

My creative response is a collection of movement phrases that I have taught during lockdown for classes via Zoom as that has been the main thing I have physically engaged with over the last couple of months. The voice over is a combination of verbal phrases I have said during Zoom classes, answers from the participants and stream of consciousness about what I’ve been reflecting on during lockdown.

Report

To gather qualitative data for this role I conducted informal interviews with a variety of people aged 18-25 to gather information to form the questions as the basis for an online survey. I then distributed the online survey via the social media platform Instagram and reflected on my own lived experiences during lockdown. These lived experiences included self-reflection, conversations with artists, venues and organisations from the dance industry and through analysis of government guidance for the arts sector.

The results have suggested that a positive future for the arts is possible with those outside the sector showing an interest in engaging with the arts more post lockdown.
