Summary:
As Neon Dance’s Communications Coordinator you will be responsible for creating and planning content and managing our social media channels, whilst working closely with Neon’s Artistic Director and Executive Producer to create and expand our brand’s story and make connections with our digital audiences.

Neon Dance has been making work for the stage, screen and spaces in between for almost 20 years; contributing to the British contemporary arts scene whilst presenting works internationally. Artistic Director Adrienne Hart has created numerous works for Neon Dance since founding the company in 2004, including ‘Falling From Trees’ (2010), ‘The Intention’ (2012), ‘Empathy’ (2016), ‘Puzzle Creature (2018) and Last and First Men (2023). She has curated sold out evenings of cross disciplinary work at Sadler’s Wells and Modern Art Oxford; directed dance film and interactive digital works including ‘Stages’ (2013) and ‘Archived’it’ (2011) and collaborated with outstanding artists and award winning collectives including Nils Frahm, Ana Rajcevic, and Numen / For Use.
Role:
Neon Dance Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating and planning content and managing the company’s social media accounts; ensuring consistent and effective communication with audiences, partners, the dance network and wider arts industry.
Fee:
1 day per week at £120 per day
9 week contract (January - February 2024)
Job Description, tasks include and are not limited to:
Create engaging and relevant content for social media posts, including new and existing graphics, photos and videos. All content must follow agreed brand guidelines and social media strategy.
Monitor social media channels for interactions, feedback and dialogue, and respond appropriately.
Write and edit content for press releases, marketing materials, blog posts, website and other communication documents.
Collaborate with the Neon Dance team to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
Contribute to the development of branding guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
Person Specification (Skills and Experience):
• Excellent writing, copywriting and editing skills.
• Proficiency in using social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, Youtube, etc)
• Strong interpersonal skills, is confident and uses initiative.
• Proficiency in using content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative
Suite (desirable).
• Understanding of the performing arts industry (desirable).
• Knowledge of digital accessibility (desirable).
Additional Information:
• This is a remote working position with flexible hours.
• The successful applicant must have access to a personal laptop/computer.
• This is a freelance contract position, you are responsible for your own tax and national insurance.
